Today I have released a video about Barack Obama, one of the leading Democratic candidates in the 2008 presidential elections. I think it will be interesting to allow people around the world to follow the presidential elections over the next year as it is being view by here in America.

I'm a native speaker of Japanese, and found your translations are perfect except for a few words and phrases: "voters" is usually 「有権者」 in Japanese. An "(election) campaign" is 「選挙運動」, not 「活動」. And the civil rights marches in Selma, Alabama, in 1965 seems to be known as （セルマの）血の日曜日事件. So the "commemorate" should be 「記念する」, not 「お祝いする」. That is, "Barack Obama will head to Selma, Alabama, to commemorate the civil rights marches of 1965" could be put like this - バラク・オバマ氏は1965年の血の日曜日事件の記念行事のため、アラバマ州セルマを訪問します。
And when Mr Obama speaks to the reporter, he says "you don't hear that chatter back home where I'm well known". This is translated as 「私の存在がよく知られている故郷では……」 but I think 「私のことがよく知られている故郷では……」 is better. (「私のこと」 is "what kind of person I am". 「私の存在」in this context sounds a bit funny.)
"But the important thing from my perspective is we're gonna be competing for voters everywhere"
しかし私の見解から見て、重要な事は、場所を問わず、票の獲得を争っていくのです。
→ しかし私の見解では、重要なことは、場所を問わず、票の獲得を争っていくことです。(or 場所を問わず、有権者の支持を得られるようがんばることです sounds more 'natural'.)
"You know, Hillary Clinton is speaking in Selma as well this weekend in Selma."
